PASTOR'S REFELCTION

What Thou Oughtest To Do (Acts 10:6)

Are you saved, baptized in water and with the Holy Ghost? Are you a worker in the Vineyard of God? If the answer is a total yes, well done and thank God for your life. If no, in any of all the questions, I appeal to you to do the needful, as delay could be dangerous.
Beloved, no matter your spiritual height today, there is still something you oughtest to do to make your spiritual relationship with God better. The story of Cornelius (Acts 10:1-48) illustrates this. He was a devout man, feared and prayed to God always (Acts 10:1-2, 30), had a good report of heaven, angels and men (vs 3, 4, 22). He had a wonderful testimony of life and a great and fantastic ministry that impacted his family, kinsmen, friends, neighbors and among all the nations of the Jews. He appeared to have done many things well, before God and men (vs 22, 30) but one thing was needful, yet missing (Luk 10:40-42). Until that missing factor was provided, the much heaven could do was allow his prayers and alms come up for a memorial before God. (vs 4, 31) That left his life and ministry incomplete.
The lesson that the story of Cornelius leaves us with is this: No matter how many things we seem to do well in our services unto God, there is still something that we oughtest to do. There is always something that God want each one of us to do, in our families, neighborhoods, churches, nation, etc. our duty is to find it fast before it is too late.
Cornelius found his missing needful through good works, alms giving, regular fasting, fervent and persistent prayers of faith. We can do likewise and since God respects all that do His will (Atcs 10:34-35, John 9:31), He will surely show you what 'thou oughtest to do'.
Our advantage today is that we have the ministry of the Holy Spirit to teach us what we ought to do at all times (John 14:17, 18, 26). Let us all go to Him to help us find the missing needful at all times.
